Why Dose My Urban Echo Exist?

The founder of My Urban Echo was once unhoused and worked at a local street newspaper called "The Challenger Newspaper" The founder (Denver) had an awful experience and was only a token instead of an equal.

Denver tried to improve the nonprofit and failed. The breaking point for Denver was the refusal to pay writers for their work.

So, Denver started collecting stories and paying writers out of his pocket. Denver would copy the business model just did the opposite "The Challenger Newspaper" would do.

The Challenger Newspaper would sell paper copies to the unhoused individuals for $0.50 then $0.75 then $1. My Urban Echo is heavily dependent on digital copies. The Challenger would print a 20 page newsletter and have a digital copy that was not well advertised.

My Urban Echo will have a one—or two-page teaser with a large QR code that will lead to the full 37-page magazine, which will be given to writers for free.
